Grounding + Becoming
Our souls find their way to the art we need.
Words, music, images, and practices can help us move more deeply into our own experiences, longings, and deep knowing.
These collections are curated to guide and accompany you as you attune to your inner landscape and to Love. I’m scattering breadcrumbs from my journey and from wise teachers and mystics before and beside me. Consider this a trailhead, of sorts.
Follow the threads that draw you, and notice what stirs in your soul.
What I’m offering here is an unconventional collection of spiritual direction resources.
You’ll find tools I refer to often, practices to experiment with, readings, notes from me, playlists, and more. I’ve only begun to gather these; feel free to bookmark this page and return as you are drawn.
Love is all around us, friends. I think we sometimes miss it when it doesn’t come packaged the way we’ve come to expect.
If you see something in this collection you’d like to explore together in a spiritual direction session, I welcome that wholeheartedly.

Gay Chorus Deep South
Scott and I were moved to tears over and over as we sensed the unmistakable frequency of Love throughout this story.
God Bless Gay
“Jesus spoke to me and said, ‘You say you have the same heart and mind that I do, so why can’t you see your son the way I do? Why can’t you love him the way I do?’”
Lifeboats, a poetic short film about coming out
“Know that by the time they get to you, they’ll have mustered every last ounce of courage and buried lots of worry. In fact, getting to your doorstep might be the hardest part of their quest, yet.”
A Grandfather’s Love and Solidarity
This incredibly moving commercial shows a grandfather’s love and solidarity, his fundamental YES to his grandchild in action. Get your tissues for this one.
I Want to To Live Out of Tune
Alok’s way of being in the world is poetry. Reading their work is an invitation to slow down and be present. Their prophetic work has invited me to deeper flourishing and truth as a human being.
Seeing Into My Pretty Eyes
“Maybe there was something in my persistent plea. Maybe there was something irresistible and inviting in the length of my eyelashes — she always said I had moo-cow lashes. Maybe it was, after all, Maybelline.”
Living Centered at the Intersection of Trauma & Spirituality
“You’re able to begin to notice that God speaks to us, God comes to us in our experience, that God becomes known; God becomes flesh in our everyday experience.” - Jonathan Merritt
The Dark Night, Songs for Our Seasons of Obscurity
This playlist is not designed to tell you that your dark night of the soul is not so bad, nor is it an attempt to coax you out of your dark night.
How to Be Alone by Pádraig Ó Tuama, An On Being Poetry Short Film
This is an evocative poem in Ó Tuama’s own voice. What words stick with you when you listen/watch? What is your felt sense of the poem?
Tapestry of Wisdom: Trauma, a curated collection
These are some of the threads I’ve been following related to the topic of trauma. May curiosity and resonance be your guides as you explore this collection.
Reconnecting to Inner Wisdom: A Deep Dive
Disconnection from our inner wisdom disrupts all of our connections — with Self, Spirit, others, and the earth. Trauma-Informed Spiritual Direction is a place to discover, recover, and cultivate our connection to this wisdom.
Being Human: Beautiful and Ominous
Coming home to our bodies is about recognizing we are complex beings whose present-tense needs are worthy of time and care. These needs are not distractions, but rather, a portal to our deepest wisdom.
