In Gay Chorus Deep South, Tim led the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus on a journey to love and to sing in the American South after the 2016 Presidential Election, as laws eliminating the rights of LGBTQIA+ citizens were being voted on (and in some cases, passed). This documentary is available to watch on Paramount Plus.

After watching Gay Chorus Deep South, I found this video of Tim telling more of his story at the last stop on the Deep South tour at the First Baptist Church in Greenville, SC. Here, he shares what it was like for him to be welcomed by a Baptist church when his own coming-out story after the pain of coming out at age 35-year as Baptist professor and music minister in the 80’s.
