Felt Sense: A tool for noticing + naming our body’s wisdom

Felt sense is a tool I work with often in my own life and in trauma-informed spiritual direction sessions. A felt sense is not an emotion or feeling. It is held in our body. It’s our “sense” of the whole of something…a person, a situation, a piece of art, music, etc. It’s unclear at first, and is always present tense. This 4-minute video is the best description I’ve found of the concept.

Would you like some company or gentle guidance as you listen for wisdom and explore new ways of engaging with your soul? Kirsten offers spacious accompaniment and trauma-informed spiritual direction. I’d love to hear what’s stirring in you and meet with you for a free exploration session.
