Good Conversations as Food + Drink for the Soul

John O’Donohue with an invitation to reflect

Collage on a light green background with neurons, 5 empty baskets at bottom, white text reads "The lost art of space"

John O’Donohue invited us to reflect on these questions in an interview with Krista Tippett called The Inner Landscape of Beauty. He said that good conversations are like “food and drink for the soul.”

Here’s an invitation to practice. What do these questions stir in you?

Do they call forth a memory? A longing? Physical Sensations? Emotions?

If a memory arises, can you tune into the memory and enter into it in the present and spend a few minutes tuning into your experience of it?

Is there an invitation here? Would you like to reach out to someone for connection?

Would you like some company or gentle guidance as you listen for wisdom and explore new ways of engaging with your soul? I offer spacious accompaniment and trauma-informed spiritual direction. I’d love to hear what’s stirring in you and meet with you for a free exploration session.
